Kidspace Romford has scored the highest possible mark in its latest food hygiene inspection.

Kidspace’s ‘Hobnosh’ restaurant was given the top score of 5 following a spot check by Havering Council.

Local authorities are responsible for enforcing food hygiene laws and the purpose of an inspection is to ensure that food is being handled and produced hygienically, and that it is safe to eat.

Inspectors also check safety procedures, training, the condition of equipment and the premises overall, and ensure there are precautions to prevent pest infestation.

Hobnosh is expertly managed by Rafik Karmedi, who has overseen the running of the kitchen since Kidspace’s opening nearly 13 years ago.

General Manager Claire Spicer said: “Rafik and his team are doing an excellent job. The kitchen is always spotless, the food is always tasty, and they take a huge amount of pride in their work. It’s no wonder they scored top marks!”
